Radio Picking the Wrong Fight With Pandora

By Jerry Del Colliano

Radio says it has 14.6 billion monthly listening hours – a stat it specially compiled to counter Pandora’s growing 125 million subscriber base.

Spin is not the answer.  Radio is picking the wrong fight with Pandora.

To slow Pandora’s growth into local markets, here is what radio must do.

1.  Pandora has an Achilles heel – and it’s not what the radio industry is targeting.  Here is the Pandora weakness that every station can exploit.

2.  How does radio ever begin to compete with a popular customizable music service when it has to use a 30 record playlist.  There is an easy way, but most stations aren’t doing it – yet.

3.  Radio’s biggest advantage over Pandora and the growing list of Pandora imitators – no one else can do what I am about to tell you, but radio.

4.  The one thing radio can do to make the next generation put their mobile devices down and turn up the radio.

5.  What happens if the radio industry doesn’t start taking Pandora seriously – then what?

Bad Breaks -- Good Outcomes

This book is about how some people succeed and others fail when life throws them a curve ball.

It contains example after example of folks who overcame odds by doing something proactive.

That's why two of the best chapters are on jealousy and shame.  Jealousy kills relationships and careers and shame kills self-esteem.  We face no shortage of both in life.  There is a better way not to fall victim.

S#@t happens as the saying goes, but good things happen as well.

They don't come from winning the lottery or necessarily getting your way.  You grasp success from the jaws of defeat.  Steve Jobs had his company stolen away from him by the man he put in charge to run Apple and then by taking a circuitous route, returned to put in perhaps his most productive years with iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad and iTunes.

The media industry is one big bag of bad luck these days, so you will want to gain a new appreciation for taking bad breaks and making good outcomes.

That's what this book is all about.

Under $9.99 in print or immediate download.
